Fuzzy Spiked Caterpillar
Shandy and I were lounging on the deck the other day (our favorite summer "activity") when I spied this little fuzzy critter.
Haven't seen a caterpillar with spikes before so I tried to find some info online. You won't believe the variety of caterpillars out there--some are darn scary. See for yourself at What's That Bug. I've sent them a request to see if they can identify our find and will keep you posted. Can you name that caterpillar?

Whoa. That's quite a site you link to! Isn't it amazing what nature does???
Found another one of these guys on the deck today but it was a bit squished. I think it may have fallen out of the tree. Also, it seemed more yellow than green. Interesting.
That is cool. Beacuse sitting on my porch this morining i have also found on of these little yellow fuzzy horned caterpillar. looking it up online hasn't helped much beacuse theres nothing on them. they are most definaly cool.
Just came across this site as I was looking for information on the same caterpillar that I saw today. After digging a little more, it looks alot like the American Dagger Moth caterpillar. Just another bit of random information for you to stock away. Enjoy!
